2010 City of Crandall Bond Election

On August 19, 2010, the Crandall City Council approved a referendum asking voters whether or not they would support raising taxes $0.20 to finance $3.5 million in general obligation bonds for Public Safety, Community Enhancement and Infrastructure Improvement in the city.

The bond package is set up with two propositions for voters to consider. Proposition one focuses on a new Police Facility with Proposition two focusing on Roadway Improvements.

The City Council's goal for moving forward with the election is to offer residents the opportunity to take advantage of historically low interest rates and competitive construction prices being experienced due to a sluggish economy. The City Council considered the priorities outlined by the Crandall Citizens, communicated during the citizen survey conducted during the 2009-2010 fiscal year.

Early Voting begins on October 18, 2010. The election will be held on November 2, 2010.
