Kaufman County Order April 7, 2020

Effective Order- Kaufman County April 7, 2020

April 7, 2020

On March 31 the Governor issued an order that over-rides the Shelter orders put in place by Counties and Cities. Until April 30, every person in the State is mandated to follow his order.

“This executive order shall supersede any conflicting order issued by local officials in

response to the COVD-19 disaster, but only to the extent that such a local order restricts

essential services allowed by this executive order or allows gatherings prohibited by this

executive order.”

Kaufman County Commissioners approved allowing the Kaufman County Shelter in Place to expire and the Governor’s order GA-14 to supersede.

Judge Richards would like to thank Governor Abbot for taking such a strong position in ordering people to stay at home as much as possible, isolating themselves from others, and only essential businesses to remain open. It is comforting to know this order now covers all counties and cities in the State of Texas making life safer for everyone.

Below is a video from the Governor.
