Envision Crandall 2025 Comprehensive Plan - Executive Summary
Information from 9.10.24 Open House
What is a Comprehensive Plan?
A comprehensive plan is a detailed document that outlines a city's goals, strategies, and actions. It serves as a blueprint for future development and guides decision-making in various aspects, such as land use, transportation, housing, and economic growth.
A Comprehensive Plan considers the community's current conditions, needs, and aspirations and provides a vision for the future. It considers factors like population growth, infrastructure needs, and environmental sustainability. It helps guide a city's long-term development and decision-making process. It helps shape a place's physical, social, and economic aspects to create a better quality of life for its residents.
About the Comprehensive Plan
Throughout the planning process, we will gather feedback from various sources to ensure that we create a comprehensive plan that addresses the needs and aspirations of the community. This will include in-person community events, a Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, and many other opportunities.
The Comprehensive Plan will have a 30-year outlook and include short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals, strategies, and actions. We aim to collaborate with you on every aspect of the plan, including land use, infrastructure, and mobility/connectivity.
We value your input and look forward to working together to shape Crandall's future. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to get involved!
- A comprehensive plan is a document that outlines a community's vision for the future.
- It includes different plans for different aspects of the community, such as land use, transportation, economy, housing, downtown areas, public infrastructure, and community facilities.
- It's important to note that a comprehensive plan does not establish zoning regulations or boundaries.
How will the Comprehensive Plan be used?
This plan is designed as a guide for city staff and appointed/elected officials, helping them make informed decisions about city services and land development. For Crandall, it will act as a roadmap to ensure every decision contributes to the well-being and growth of Crandall, reflecting the city's collective goals and aspirations.
Why Prepare a Comprehensive Plan?
- The plan helps with the fiscal planning of city resources.
- Zoning regulations are required to be adopted in accordance with a comprehensive plan, as mandated by the Texas Local Government Code.
Why get involved?
Getting involved in the public participation of the comprehensive plan process is an exciting opportunity for everyone in the community. By participating, you can shape the future of Crandall. Your input and feedback are invaluable in ensuring that the plan reflects the community's needs, aspirations, and unique character.
Your ideas and perspectives will be considered alongside those of other community members, and stakeholders, creating a well-rounded plan that represents the community's vision.
